July 2015 Notice on behalf of
The Deer Initiative for England and Wales
John Moverley, steps down from Partnership Chair and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of DI Ltd.
John Moverley, who was recently appointed Chair of the Deer Initiative (DI) has reluctantly decided to step down from the role of both Partnership Chair and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of DI Ltd with immediate effect. Unfortunately John’s personal family commitments have changed since his appointment and regrettably he has decided that he cannot continue, a situation accepted and understood by the DI Board. John recognised that the time required by the DI over the next few months would be greater than he could commit himself to make and that it would be best for the Partnership and DI Ltd to find an individual that could definitely make this necessary short term requirement. John, who will continue in his role as Chair of the Forestry Commission West Midlands Forestry and Woodlands Advisory Committee, said:
‘I am extremely disappointed that changes in circumstances mean that I cannot at this point commit myself to the necessary time for the DI. I think it is a very exciting period in the development of the organisation and I will continue to offer my full support in every way possible’
The Board of Trustees are putting in place interim arrangements to support the Partnership and the executive staff until a new Chair is appointed.
Executive Director, Peter Watson on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the DI said,
‘We are of course disappointed that John is unable to carry on as Chair but fully understand his reasons and we will look to steer the DI through the next few months until a new permanent Chair is appointed.’
